Improvement of existing traction technology
In 2008 we were contracted to replace the traction equipment on the Class 465 fleet with our bespoke traction technology in order to increase reliability and availability of the ageing stock.
Apart from one technical casualty in the first unit in the first month of service, there have been no failures since the end of 2009.
The fleet is now running at 14 million miles between casualty, an outstanding achievement for our second Europe based project.
On-time delivery, supported for life
We signed the contract in March 2007, replacing 194 traction packages on the Class 465 commuter train; we fitted two units per week thus completing the project on-time.
From the first day that the project fitment began it took us just thirteen months to replace the traction on the whole fleet of trains. We managed and achieved heavy lift road fitment of the equipment on time and on budget, with a zero failure rate attributed to equipment fitment.
